Cable to pair with the Neutrik/Rean NYS231BG?

Switched my custom 1/4th inch Neutrik for a 3.5mm connector using Mogami 2534. Biggest pain in the world, had to drill out the back then it still isn't big enough to put heatshrink through it so I got a gap in the cable behind the 3.5mm.

Know what would be awesome a youtube tutorial showing everything nicely step by step.  I ruined a ton of these plugs (Luckily I ordered 5 knowing full well I'd screw up.)

Buying a different plug would had been a better solution. Switchcraft are a little bigger, easier to solder, and can be used with bigger cables. The 2534 is around 6mm and the switchcraft can handle 6.3 cable. Best part is (depend on where you buy it from) it doesn't cost that much more than a neutrik.

Heatshrink strain relief?  You can do without it if you are using the complete 2534 cable.  2534 with outer shield and PVC jacket removed will fit in a drilled out Neutrik mini along with a heatshrink boot and some nice-looking nylon multifilament braid sleeving of your choice.

Wait you suggest removing the shield and the PVC through the length of the cable and just sheath it with something else?

How do people do those custom braided wire cables, the ones that look like toxic cables.

Check my Default photo album for examples of stripped and sleeved 2534.

ToxicCables cables use ordinary braiding.  There should be guides on cable braiding here and else if you search.  You can probably find a video or two on it on Youtube.
