For Sale:
FS: Beautiful Buffalo II DAC/Pre/Headphone amp

Will Ship To: US

Selling a Buffalo II "plus" built by Naamanf. It's one stunning build, featuring a backlit laser etched acrylic sub panel which lights up Blue, a thick brushed aluminum faceplate, and custom etched labeling in back.

And the sound is even better then the looks! This DAC has the TPA volumite , making it a digital pre-amp as well as a DAC. Digital inputs include Toslink, RCA, BNC, and AES/EBU.

But wait....there's more!  :D

Naaman decided to build a Mini³ amp into the case, maxxing out the functionality scale. So this DAC/Pre/Amp could double as a pretty sweet little desktop all in one as well, just add a USB/SPDIF converter if your machine doesn't have SPDIF out, and use it with headphones or powered speakers.

A few points about inputs based on my testing:

  • The BNC COAX input can handle 24/192 (didn't test the AES/EBU and RCA coax, but they should handle 24/192 as well)
  • Optical handles 24/96
  • There is no USB, so even though the chip can handle DSD, right now the DAC does not

The Buffalo DAC's - I've owned two in the past - could sound bright at times.  This unit has all the stunning details but I was never turning away with ears bleeding, nor ever even fatigued.  Truly is an awesome DAC, especially when fed hi-res via my Pioneer N-30 or with laptop and Hi-Face II.

Footprint is about 13.5" W x 12" D x 4" H.  Still small enough to fit on many a desktop....

Selling because I am looking to buy a new laptop, older one is dying.  My price is $725 including shipping in US, and no PayPal fees either.  Prefer US only for now.

I may be interested in trades, don't need much but try me; but I'll need a good chunk of cash from this (~$500) to go towards the new laptop.....feel free to make an offer as well, but please be reasonable.

Thanks,

It can, I tried it myself, but it honestly it would best driven by a dedicated amp.....one of the best matches I found for this DAC/Amp was with the A-T W1000X.....VERY nice combo!
