Boxes.... what do you do with them?

Have a bit of a box fetish, probably part of me not wanting to waste stuff but some of the boxes that Headphones/Gear comes can be all kinds of plush, in some cases they're so presentable you wouldn't need a headphone stand.... figured I'd ask what others on here do with the boxes their gear comes in, how long do you keep them, where do you keep them, why do you keep them? .lol.

Is odd seeing people with stands for Audeze headphones that seem to be lesser quality/value than the box they came with.... HifiMan know how to keep people hording by the look of it as well.

Any box fetish fans on Head-fi?

I probably would if I could, but hoarding boxes is a habit I had to break in order to save my marriage. Some days I'm not sure it was worth it... tongue.gif

Unless it's a product for which I may need the original box for shipping purposes, I ditch it. And if it's beautifully designed, extravagant packaging that I'm paying to look at, open, and ditch... well, then, I ditch it in frustration and ding the value of the product accordingly...

Yeah. Figured most people would out of necessity is odd that we would on one hand frown at a company that would dare sell us gear in some cardboard box but then on the other hand only throw away what they do offer.

Pray that no one has ever thought about throwing away an Audeze box, I'd sleep in one if it were big enough .lol. Even my Focal Classic box is a keeper.

Suppose after a while when the headphones have lost that new shine to them I could throw the box out.

I'll sell you my box once I get some Audezes... ;)

In all seriousness, I realize I'm in the minority for applauding rather than chastising a company for using 'some cardboard box' or other minimal packaging. Excess in packaging is just... upsetting to me.

I try to keep the boxes in case I ever want to resell any pair of headphones as original.  But somehow I haven't really sold any to warrant this.  Funny how that works.
