I just received an Audioquest Cinnamon USB A to micro USB cable (one of the few cables with a micro USB option). The micro USB end does not fit into the recessed micro USB slots! This is a pain even though I am REALLY enjoying the Hugo so far.

I am totally OK with not every cable working with such a compact device but still the micro USB connector is not exactly bulky.  It might be time for Chord to offer some recommendations.

I think I will give the UK Verterre (sp?) cable a try instead.

Even my optical cable from sys concept Canada metal connector can not fit
I must buy like Jude has small optical cable, and small jack

I didn't. Know the apt X , all base on my trial biggrin.gif
In first 5 minute if my iPhone 5s not Distortion, the Sq is better than from my Note 3
All music are the same in WAV file with the same songs
Because of distortion for long term use my note 3 is better than my iPhone 5s

IMO .

The best is coax > USB > optical > Bluetooth
Overall Hugo SQ is incredible

Note : if Hugo has big hole for home coax or RCA and I can use my Shunyata coax and RCA
I believe SQ would be must better on portable Dac / Amp, so far already the best dac / amp

IMO

I have tried it all except optical which I don't care so much about and in my case it was usb>coax>bluetooth, but the usb spdif converter has an important role here. You may find a good usb -spdif interface to make it sound better, but the usb implementation on Hugo is very good on it's own.

I am agree with you Hugo is very good on its own
All cable are very important , if I can use my coax from nanotech japan Neuron 99 , that's would be great for me

My Transportable rig

DX50 > stock Coaxial cable (from DX50)  >  Hugo >000 > Fitear C435

I can now get desktop like SQ anywhere I go

However, I still hope Chord can release a "Hugo mini" in the future that is smaller for driving only c/iem.

Yesterday night I have tried Hugo with my ciem UM Miracle

Source : ibasso HDP R 10
Dac / Amp : chord Hugo
Iem : um miracle with tralucent gold cable first edition
Cable : Kimber cable RCA but I use as coax , ideal is coax cable 75 ohm
I don't have the small connector that fit Hugo

Sound quality : I never heard my miracle sound so good before

IMO

Yes, my Parterre scales very well by Hugo, too... I have the exact same feeling that I never heard my Parterre as good before. They get scaled up to another level up than HM-901 balance card. Really spacious and great dynamic.

I think Chord should make use of this same technology to release a Hugo mini version for C/IEM use or easy-to-drive portable headphones. I can then put Hugo at home and take Hugo mini while out.

Can the MacBook Pro be used as a source for DSD? I would guess there is some software?

I found this:

We are lucky can get on the right time , if not we must pay more 1400 pound sterling woow
So far I am very happy with Hugo
Except one only : the RCA and COAX hole to small , I can not use my home rigs RCA and Coax

Hi Flaco - the Forza Audi cable Micro USB fits really well & to my ears sounds very good.

Mat who runs Forza also gives good customer service & for European based Head-Fiers is a good alternative to sourcing outside Europe which can be a hassle & more expensive due to import duties etc.
