Hi there, I've been joining Head-Fi since last May. However this is my first post. Please forgive me if I'm rude here.

I've got my Hugo last Fri. It's been running 12 hours a day since then. I'm so impressed by it's performance. I've tried the following 2 configurations:

1. Rega Apollo-R CD -> SPDIF -> HUGO -> line out -> EddieCurrent Balancing Act -> HD800

2. Rega Apollo-R CD -> Toslink -> DAC202U -> balanced out -> EddieCurrent Balancing Act -> HD800

IMHO the Hugo's performance is on par with DAC202U as the above configuration. I'll test USB performance in the coming days. For the price/performance point of view I think HUGO is the king.  It's well worth the price that Chord sets.

Looking forward to your review. Will be interesting to see what is the best input method for Hugo, SPDIF, USB vs PC/ Mac or some portable tablet or Android devices.

My dealer told me that there will be another 6 weeks of waiting.. new batch will arrive next week but it will be with the "old" casing.

So what I did instead was to send my ear impressions to Noble in China instead.. my left ear has a very narrow opening.. 1'st canal bend.. or something like that so they might not be able to make me K10's.. but I'm crossing my fingers.. hoping that karma is with me, as two bad news in a row would not make me happy.. ;)

But for DSD, wich device is not ok? Or wich device is ok?

And second thing even with rockbox we can not use an ipod classic with DSD file on it?

For portable use an iDevice will work. But the files are huge and if you want a lot of music on the go you might consider a portable HDD as the Seagate Wireless Plus as well as the iDevices have limited storage.

The iPod Classic will not work without adding a iDevice DAC and use that's digital out and then to the Hugo's DAC.
But I do not know if the iPC can play FLAC or ALAC with DSD embedded.

I hope that it is the truth and nothing but the truth..

Anyway.. I'm crossong my fingers.. but won't get my hopes up and start the "design process" before I know that a pair of Noble's Kaiser 10 can be mine, as I would be even more dissapointed if I did that and it couldn't be done. rolleyes.gif
