and to be honest i have a custom lightening cable from a known company here that costs 90 USD and I did not hear any difference from the regular apple lightning cable

Just remember to use lubricant when you're inserting the Optocoupler into Hugo - he'll thank you for it  ;)

If inserting the connector goes a little stiff, apply a TINY amount of lubricant

Just found something good about $99 Schiit Wyrd and Hugo

PC > Wyrd > Hugo > HD800 / Paradox Slants

Difference here was blatantly obvious. Less treble glare, a smoother more fluid sound.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the Wyrd if you are using something not optimized for music playback. I’m talking about anything from a Dell desktop to a Mac Mini. I would especially recommend this if you are using a laptop with a HD. I tried using an old MBP (2007) model that had a 500gb HD, and the differences were stark.

I wouldn’t recommend this if you already have a good source, optimized for music playback. I doubt you would hear any positive results and in some cases negative results if you are using a CAPS, Vortex, etc.

6VAC wall wart for 115V countries only

Gotta find a decent 6VAC power source for 220V outlets here.

3 Connect the supplied 6VAC wall-wart to Wyrd with the attached cord. Do not use different AC
adapters, no matter how fractally perfect, cryogenically treated, or quantum aligned they are. Most
wall-warts are DC output, and will not work with Wyrd. We are using linear rectification and some of

the lowest-noise regulators on the planet to ensure the lowest noise USB power

I might think about getting this with dual 110V + 220V outputs then

Maybe DMA will also sell that later this year, then 220V version of that 6VAC wall wart should be included.

Try contact ibasso. They supply a short one with the dx50/90 and I imagine they can sell you that separately for a reasonable price. Not a fancy cable but it fits and does the job.

There is no debating cables in the Science Fiction Forum!

The Hugo is magical with Beyer T1.  No trace of harsh/hot treble, just clear, well extended in both directions, very musical. Love it.

Can anyone confirm if the 2014 Mac Air USB output supports DSD playback using the Hugo? Read somewhere that modern Mac's USB output is restricted to 24/96.

we will have something for you soon. We are going to custom make something.

But Hugo needs 12 volt DC only. Any more and you will damage him any less and he might not like it.

For the Hugo owners: how long does your battery last when the unit is off?

Mine seems to deplete in 24h even when the unit is off.

Not good. How much does it deplete as in dead and needs a recharge
Or just a change in color as it's typicL to loose about 5 % each day with a LIpo
