Yep, insane it is. But I have to give credit to the Lumin player. For the price (about the cost of a hi-end computer audio server), I think it's already an excellent front end with aesthetics, great ui, build quality and support to match. I forgot how to get the DoP function enabled last night (1 am) and they responded within 15 mins. on their facebook to resolve it - Customer Support as good as it gets! Also, Lumin as a digital front end source for the Hugo is one of the best I heard so far without reaching for players costing over 2X / 3X the price ....

thanks for the update Mimo, appreciated... do you think a WM-Port>mini-USB cable is doable using the stock WM-Port/USB cable as a donor?... or could it be done using the WMC-NWH10 cable by changing the USB end to mini-USB?.. I'm a complete numb-nuts at this stuff.

there a new USB 3.1 cable on the way which should solve quite a few problems connecting devices, link:

I like it as well the problem arises when I try to order the bloody thing.. Audiowood's case looks pretty nifty.

IMO, the Hugo dac is a notch above the Lumin's internal dac. With the Lumin running through the Hugo dac, I find more separation and layering; imaging and staging is more 3D with a touch more body to the music. Subtle differences but very audible to these ears.  My diy digital cable is still settling in, there are still some things I want to try out to optimise the setup....

Iam just Wonder Sometimes this year or maybe next year Chord will release Hugo Desktop Version That Replace the Qute Ex

HUGO is already the best dac i ever heard, Can't Imagine What IS the Sound of the desktop Version , maybe more tap in the hugo desktop....

Really need more saving to HUGO DESKTOP DAC in the future.

maybe you can spoil some information on the desktop version hehehe

My wife even believe me when she asked me how much i spend on this hugo, i just said "this little thing just cost $300" and she just believe me hehehehe lucky she didn't ask one for her"

Anxiously waiting here as well, hope it will be a game changer for reference dacs as the Hugo is for portables with aesthetics and ergonomics to match:)

Thanks for the comparison. Your description of what sets the Hugo apart is same as what I hear.

This one is good because it is semi-hard case with internal pouch for micro USB and CCK.

I'd be more than satisfied if the Qute EX was bumped to Hugo specs and nothing else. Hopefully the price would remain the same, seeing as it recently went up in replacing the HD model.

Thanks for the recommendation, I actually tried all the 5" hard case yesterday at Bestbuy for both GPS and phone and none of them fit. The Hugo measure 6" diagonally and an inch thick. The Tom Tom case is a rare size as its for 6" GPS (same size as Hugo) . I have seen some 7" size but they are for tablets and is too big. Bad thing is its soft case (meant to put in bag) but good thing is the I use the red cover to sit Hugo on top in office.

Thanks, I actually switch to Blue dragon after seeing your post and while I am at it, grab the V1 silver cable for Shure Se 846 :D. 1 click 2 kills. Not very good for wallet

That amazon basics one is the one I use for my Hugo and it fits perfectly, even a pocket for the USB and CCK cable.

John Franks is finalizing a design for a case - as I understand it's in leather, embossed with Chord Hugo, and has a pouch for phone/source too. I have not seen it yet, but something will be coming soon.

Good news, thanks. I just sent my friend Jeff Dorgay at ToneAudio a note today saying my favorite piece of gear I have bought in a long time is the Chord Hugo .... my vinyl rigs including new Spiral Groove SG1.1 with Goldfinger has been spinning less since the Hugo came in. Nicely done.
