T50rp question...

I'm looking here at the upgrade options this guy has for t50rp. So the basic ZMF upgraded t50rp is $190 (That includes the headphones believe it or not! which totally smashes mad dog and thunderpants deals if the sound is comparable). Anyway my question is this. There is also a recabling option which says includes connections and even the drivers are recabled for another $50. Would you spring for this option or just stick with the basics for now?

It's a question of musical opportunity cost: what would you be spending that money on to enhance your system instead of the recable + the new cable? That depends on how satisfied you are with your source and amp. Otherwise, it depends on the effects of recabling, which I'm sure are an improvement considering that the stock cable is (only) adequate.

Edit: Also, ask on the ZMF thread for someone to explain the difference in the sound.

I recently purchased a pair recently and did so without the cabling option, which I regret now.  If you consider upgrading the T50rp, I think it would make sense to save up the money to just get the best package possible.  It definitely makes a difference.
