dac/amp for sony mdr-7520's

hi guys

i'm interested in getting better sound out of my laptop. my goal is to get the clearest, cleanest (uncolored and true-to-life) audio from *dialogue* (not music). the standout headphones for this - based on many reviews i've read - seem to be the sony mdr-7520's.

as far as dac/amp, i've been looking at a few options (not listed in any particular order):

1. sony pha-2

2. cypherlabs algorhythm dB paired with  alo rx 3b+

3. hifi-m8

i don't mind paying for some good quality and i'm open to all suggestions - either from what i've listed or something different entirely. if you guys think there are some better headphones for my application please let me know.

thanks in advance for any help on this!

it would not have to be portable. i'm just looking for a setup to produce clear and detailed vocals. i haven't checked out the ds labs - thank you for the suggestion and i will check that one out!

How about Fostex HP-A4? It's really good but might not be so portable.

got my mdr-7520's yesterday and jdl c5d amp/dac today! i've never owned headphones before so i don't have a lot of comparisons to make.....but wow. i obviously haven't spent a lot of time with them but i was blown away by some of the professionally produced ads on youtube. i can tell those hp's can really put out some base!

i can only imagine what kind of really awesome sounds the setup will produce with some top grade source material. so far i'm extremely impressed though!

congratulations, i am glad that you like the new audio gear.

The audio in youtube is compressed. You could try to listen 320 kbps mp3 or flac files or audio cds of music tracks in Foobar.
