Hello everybody, finally I officially joined Head-Fi after many years of just reading reviews etc. Anyways, I need some help in the IEMs and Headphones department, I LOVE BASS!! for me, music without it doesn't sound right. In the past year I've been reading about Headphones and IEMs with a good amount of bass while maintaining its highs and mids BUT I feel like I still haven't found the one with that Bass that will make me go WOW. I've owned the following:

1-V-Moda Bass Freq "great bass but broke within a year of listening"

2- Sennheiser CX-300 "great IEM, just wanted a little more bass, also broke pretty fast"

3- Atrio MG7 "bought it because of the great reviews about the bass quantity but for me it doesn't deliver that bass"

4- V-Moda M100 "overall great sound but I don't hear or feel that bass"

5-Sennheiser IE80 "Excellent sound but still I want more bass"

the last 3 I bought it because of the great reviews and how people said they were phenomenal on the bass, but honestly I don't, I feel like they missing something, I'm looking for a more powerful bass, maybe something punchy.

I must recall that I'm NOT a big fan of headphones, I prefer IEMs, but if there is a headphone that doesn't brake the bank and can deliver that bass I'm looking for, I can try!

Also, the Vmoda Bass Freq as of right now, have that bass that Im looking for but needs a little extra.

I came to the conclusion that I may have a hearing problem HAHA, maybe that bass that im searching for cant be delivered on a pair of EIMs or Headphones.

*My source is an iPhone 5, volume is around 85-100% while listening to music, I listen to music about 3hrs a day while working out and going to work.

I've tried the digiZoid 2.3 but when the volume is at full the sounds breaks and it doesn't sound right, the person at digiZoid said the device is being overdriven!

I know its a long post but hopefully you guys can help me out. or maybe I must stop looking for that bass and take it easy before I lose my hearing haha.

Hi, I have V-moda m100 and bass isn't that good for me when hooked with an iPhone/iPod. I tried Bose OE2 and was amazed. Sound quality is as V-Moda m100 great quality with clear bass. It's also half the price of V-moda m100. But, I think you need to get a better MP3 player like a Cowon X9 (amazing sound and bass) or get FiiO DAC AMP with iPhone to get the sound you're looking for. I highly recommend Bose OE2 for quality and price.

Thanks for your comment. I have a Fiio 6 and a digiZoid but still I don't get that quality and quantity bass I'm looking for. Or maybe I just looking for something that only my high end stero system can deliver.

I am pretty sure any retailer has headphones testers from major companies. Give it a shot. Your FiiO isn't DAC right?

Have you tried E12 headphone amp? What is the quality of your music files (low bit rate mp3 or 320kbps mp3 or lossless)? Do you use the LOD cable (http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-20-Inch-Line-Cable-iPhone/dp/B005DK08X6/)?

DAC = Digital to analog converter. Music files (mp3 or flac) for stored as digital format. DAC convert the digital signal to analog format. All devices have a dac. However, a dedicated DAC would improve the sound quality.

I havent tried anything else but the digiZoid ad Fiio 6, Quality of music is all mp3 195-320Kbps. and that LOD doesnt work with an iPhone 5 "lighting Connector"

I must say, the bass defenitiley increases when using the digiZoid but when the volume is increased above 85% its starts to sound bad, they said "digiZoid customer service" that its being overdriven.
