Basically looking for a new pair of good headphones under $150

Thread Starter

Hi.

I'm a new user here and I've looked at a few threads regarding the same subject but I figured I would make my own thread to better suit my needs.

I'm looking for a pair of headphones that are under $150 (but there's a chance I'll be able to go over that). I currently own a pair of Sony XB500's, but they are wearing out. One side of the headphones don't work anymore and that of course is not good for me. I've owned them for a year, though, and I enjoyed them while they worked completely. I liked these headphones because they were loud and bassy, and comfortable to wear for long periods of time (although recently I've had to take them off because they made my ears too warm. The only thing I didn't like about these headphones is that they leaked sound greatly and that they looked really cheap looking after some use.

So, I would love some recommendations for a new pair! I would like a pair similar to my current ones (loud, bassy, comfortable, and good sound quality). I listen to mostly electronic music (dubstep, drum n bass, drumstep, all of that), and occasionally rock and other genres. So, a pair that sounds good with all sorts of genres (but mainly electronic) would be great.

As I said before, I looked at other threads regarding this subject. Many recommended the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 and the Ultrasone HFI-580. If any of you have had experience with both of these headphones, which one is better (at least for what I'm looking for)?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

You could save a few dollars and just get the Gemini HSR-1000 (Takstar Pro 80), $50-$60.

$43, aluminum, lifetime warranty, and quarter inch adaptor for the headphonejack

http://www.amazon.com/Koss-ProDJ100-Headphones/dp/B003X1BEKI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390459115&sr=8-1&keywords=koss+prodj+100

You could put the remaining money on an amp, dac or in savings

Also check the winter guide out
