Yea those were the prices for the Pro versions I was just asking if there was a reason for the huge jump in price other than what I posted above. Also I am looking at getting the C5D that way I can use it at home and while I am traveling.

The differenace in price is a mystery, some have mentioned the Preium models "look" better than the pros. Which is why they cost more. Either way, get the pro save some money :3

Yea that is the thing I always see people say is save money and get the Pros. I like the way the 990 Pros look anyway its laid back and does not stand out like the white Premiums. So I am just going to get a pair of the DT880 and DT990 Pro/250Ohm versions a CD5 here soon. I will let you guys know how I like them and if not see what it is I might.

And we will be most happy to help you! Although if you don't like the DT 880 then you might be deaf ;3 [just kidding]

still I'm glad you where able to approach this the way you did, take advantage of the C5's bass boost, most ppl feel the DT 880 lacks bass, and if you feel the same then the DT 990 will have the bass you want. Best of all the C5 is a tad warm, so it should mellow out the treble of both cans

either way here's to hoping you like on of them :D

Just a few more questions before I make my purchase.  As of right now I was curious if I could use my onboard soundcard from my Asus Maximus V Formula for both the DT880s/990s until I get my CD5 since it has a 300Ohm amp on it. The last question I had was is there anyone on here I could send my headphones to and get them rewired since I have been reading some good things about doing that with Mogami wire and I would like to do a detachable mini xlr cable and connector inside the headphone that locks in place.

XLR is for balanced connections, which means you would need a balanced amp.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about the cables until you have had some time with the headphones - and even then I wouldn't worry about the cables... wink.gif

Ok the only reason I asked that was because I don't like how the cable is coiled on them. But I am going to give them some time after I order them.

Hello everyone that has given me suggestions on which HP so buy.  I received my DT990pro/250 a few weeks ago and I am amazed by the sound quality they have and open soundstage. They are very comfortable I have worn these for hours and hade no problems with them even after I take them off and there is no pressure around my ears or anything like I used to with my old HPs.  I got them for ~150-160 shipped and the are the best HPs I have ever used.

The only complaints I have is the bass while it is there I wish it were just a little more but at the time it is running off my Asus MB which that may help and I have not tried any EQing. The only other complaint I have is the Coiled cable which I may try to see if I can straighten it out if that will not damage the cable it is just a little to short while is is coiled, or going to send it off and get a removable 3.5mm jack put on because I was planning on using the V-Moda boom mic and it uses a 3.5mm jack to plug into HPs with a removable cable.

And again I would like to thank everyone for helping me out with this great pair of HPs that were $100 under the budget I posted. You guys do know what you are talking about and try to guide people into making a great purchase.
