best portable amp for my need?

I got an imod 80gb video couple years ago from red wine audio, never ended up using it, I still have the alo audio dock cable with it so I just need an amp, I'm currently considering Ray Samuels The Shadow, I will only be driving IEM's with this as I already have a reference desktop amp.

Budget for portable amp is <500$

The Ray Samuels amp sounds like a darn good plan to me - hard to argue with that. Not as many people seem willing to pony-up the cash for Ray Samuels these days - the focus in the forums seems to be on lower cost amps from Fiio, iBasso, etc, or they go for a CLAS rig or maybe a higher-end DAPs like the Astell & Kern.

Other options might be something like The National from ALO Audio, the Pico from Headamp, the Portaphile or the Graham Slee Voyager.

One of the new kids on the block is Vorzuge: http://www.vorzuge.com/product/vorzamp-pure/

do you think the shadow would be best from those?
