What is a "good fit" for CIEMs?

Thread Starter

Hi all,

I've recently received my first pair of CIEMs. Everything has been amazing except one possible fit issue: while the earpieces sit nicely in my ear, if I apply pressure on the faceplate with my hands, I hear noticeably more bass and better isolation. Is this normal?

The bass level is good for me right now without pressing.. but at the sometime this has been bothering me since I don't know what a good fit is. Appreciate your help!

looks like a bad fit.
rub your fingers close to both ears, you should easily notice if one ear as a better seal than the other.
but with a good seal you should have the maximum quantity of bass, so again you pushing on the piece and getting more bass is a bad sign.

Yes looks like a fit issue, talk to your mfg and try to find the exact problem with fit and may be you can send them back for refit.

not a good fit.

if it happens after awhile after you wore it could be body oil. like me, they used to slip out slightly after some movement. won't really notice until you touch it.
