FS: John Blue JB3 (white) speakers & KingRex T20U t-amp w/ built-in DAC
Will Ship To: Anywhere
I'm moving from a desk-based system to a room requiring something that hits a bit heavier, so I'm selling my desktop gear to fund the purchase of some larger speakers. For anyone looking for an excellent near-field monitor system, your search is over.
Like so many just-add-water toys, just add speaker cables and you'll be amazed at the enormous soundstage and immersive reproduction this little kit is capable of creating. The John Blue JB3 speakers (offered in contemporary and minimizing white) are single-driver full range speakers that have truly astonished reviewers with their transparency, balance and genuine full-range-y-ness (I think that's a technical term). But fear not, they won't shrink back to original size over time! Honestly, these speakers floored me when I first hooked them up and they have only smoothed and filled out the more I've used them. In the three years I've been enjoying them they have seen some 400-500 hours of use with a wide variety of source material, so they come well prepared for whatever you can throw at them.
If you're unfamiliar with the amp, KingRex has been offering excellent hifi components for the budget conscious and space-challenged listener, with a particular focus on the computer crowd. This sleek T20U amp is a perfect companion to your laptop or desktop, and requires only one USB port in exchange for mind-bending audio nirvana. The built in DAC is highly regarded for its ability to strip away any digital gremlins hiding in your music or movies and pump out as much clean, effortless and enveloping audio as you could need. It pairs perfectly with the JB3 speakers and the three of them can get much louder than they ought to without distorting.
Any jesting aside, this is a superb near-field kit. I'm sorry to part with them, but can't justify keeping them while expanding another stereo system. I paid $725 to pick these up new. Price is firm at $465. Price does NOT include shipping, that'll be based on USPS rates to wherever you live. Included with the speakers & amp shown are the original grills for the speakers, original boxes, and a set of foam isolators that work very well to angle the speakers up to avoid any desktop reflections. I think the photos show it well, but just to say it: these are all in a very good condition. There's a few marks on the the amp, mostly on the bottom from a set of isolation cones. But nothing is deeply scratched or mangled and everything performs exactly as it should, that is to say very well!
