Headphones for Classical music - Page 5

The HE-400 is best for electronic music and good for jazz and some rocks, but definitely not for classical.

To each his own.

I'm gonna throw a curve ball in here.  Try out the Bowers and Wilkins P7.  They have been fantastic for every genre, but classical is just amazing on them.  The clarity is fantastic, and there is plenty of punch there when it is needed.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON

Sarkasm.

I would never have considered the p7 being good for classical music. I thought it was all about big bass and not much refinement, but what do I know, I haven't heard them.

I don't find that to be the case at all.

Well maybe you are right. Now that we are considering other headphones than the classics, why not also take a look at the Philips L2?

I didn't realize the OP restricted recommendations to just the "classics."  I read "$500 max"

Hi guys. So I did get a chance to hear both HD600 and 650. I personally liek the 650 better. Would HD800 be a good choice then? I really have no idea what 800 sounds like. But I am sure curious if it sounds more towards what 600 offers vs. 650.

That gets a wee bit beyond the $500
