That's awesome, thank you so much for posting this. Which android are you using? I want to get the microphone cable to use with my Nexus 5.

I have a Nexus S running Android 4.4.2. It's an old phone, but combined with voodoo sound to unlock the full potential of the Wolfson dac it sounds great.

Ahh, I remember using Voodoo sound on my LG G2x with the Wolfosn dac. It was great.

i honestly can't hear any difference using velour pads compared to the stock pads (a lot of people have the same feedback). imo, you get longer listening hours with velour pads because they are more comfortable.

So did it get confirmed by anyone that the blue limited edition M50x sounds sonically different than the black or white ones?

Listened to Lorde's pure heroine album with these headphones and im very pleased with them, never heard her album sound so good.

The detail and sound seperation is what I've liked, it's great! It's bass is enough for my liking, if you like beats by dre bass maybe you wont like these headphones.

As to comfort they are comfy and tried them for 2 hours never had issues with them, I also wear glasses if you might ask. Others would disagree but I wear them outside while on the train, bus and walking, because I wanna enjoy great sounding music while im on the go. Great ear muffs as well, it's winter here.smily_headphones1.gif

Great value for money and im very much pleased with them.

Im new to this stuff and If given the chance I would like to explore even further.

By the way I've got the Blue Ath-M50x.

man... i want those tan and blue phones...

what IEMs do the m50x phones sound like? i've never had full sized headphones. i'm unsure what to think about these. the people on the IEM boards say that the gr07 is more detailed than these, and that the m50s aren't that great, but "professional" reviewers and amazon reviewers rave about them. i wish i could test them in a store.

Full size headphones normally have better soundstaging than IEMs. Btw, we are talking about the M50x, not the M50s that you are talking about.

Am I the only one that thinks the blue M50x looks absolutely hideous?

i agree only partially with u. i love understated looks like the ATH-M50x black edition, but sometimes i also like designs like the V-Moda XS white which is kinda flashy. Depends on what u like.

btw, audio technica has released a new SonicFuel over the ear budget headphone line. i started a thread, go check it out.

I don't nescicarily think it's hideous, I just definitely think it's geared to a more sophisticated crowd, someone who would buy a pair of Harman-Kardon pair of headphones. So not really the style either of us would like. I personally don't think they suit my style, but some people might like them. I just like the kind of cool, streetwear kind of style.

i said i had my eyes on the m50x. it's just that the people on the iem board said the m50 sounds worse than the gr07. they didn't mention anything about the X, so i didn't give their opinion on the X. that's the closest opinion i've seen of m50X vs gr07. guess i'll just have to order them when they're in stock on amazon, since they have a decent return policy.

I think its great that Audio Technica finally added a detachable cable.  Still doesn't compare to a good detachable cable moded pair though.  If the mod is done right the headphones look much better and work with whatever cable you see fit.
