New Audio Technica ATH-M50x with Removable Cable - Page 9

I think it's just the lighting, that's all

A reliable source that had contacted Audio-Technica this past week has said that they are backordered by over 15,000 units of the M50x (all colors combined, worldwide). Of course this doesn't mean some retailers won't have them in stock. YMMV.

yeah, I just got something from amazon….saying they are pushed back again to late march now

I just got this on the mail today ($209 AUD from eBay) and can confirm and they generally look much better in person than in photos. Not nearly as bright blue as some photos would suggest. Very pleasant to look at in fact, goes well with the brown.

Look nice in that light, that's the kind of brown I wanted but maybe a bit darker.

I'm diggin the blues for sure but ... I kinda feel like I have absolutely no reason for them. I feel like my ue 6000 has a similar sound sig and probably better anyway. Btw I've recently seen the ue6000 for 90 US dollars on eBay and Amazon and it has a REAL cable jack

Didn't mean to seem like an advertisement, after all I haven't actually listened to any ath m50 ever in my life

i dunno about it being better but its from just holding the ue6000 it just doesn't feel as solid as the m50s, plus they look unnecessarily bulky because they had to make room for the battery

like the plastic feels more solid than the older beats studio though

but from others reviewing they don't have the same sound signature (the m50s have better treble extension) and more seemingly recessed mids

Yeah I never felt to confident about the ue 6000 build quality. If the athm50x is built like my srh840 then it's good to go, my 6000's have a v shaped sig. The mids are recessed for sure

But damn that blue and tan is sexy, if they keep it up maybe the average consumer will lean towards the m50 instead of beats. Don't take my word on that though lol

That is what I'm struggling with, I love my UE 6000, and have sold two other pairs of m50s.....not sure if I want the blue ones now

I actually found them not really too v shape more darker sound with less treble extension, rolls off pretty quick.Mids i found pretty solid and bit bassy for me. I would say its a stretch to call i v shape ( but this is without the noise cancelling so no battery) i think ur talking about with the active noise cancelling on

No man I never turn ANC on it sounds like garbage, I find the treble to extend very well on the ue 6000, MUCH more than my srh840 but nowhere near my grado sr325is. The mids are recessed but when there's not a lot of drums and bass guitar I find the 6000's mid range to take center stage and sound very good

I've got the blue ones, the sound is fantastic! Balanced, with just a tad bit of bass kick. Very detailed and delicious :L3000:.

Comfortable as well, 5 hours straight with no problems :)

I'm enjoying the ATH M50x entirely. Such a fun headphone.
