New Audio Technica ATH-M50x with Removable Cable - Page 8

Does anyone think AT will produce cables with inline mics like those that come with phone compatible cans? If not, will any third-party makers enter this market? I'll mainly use these for my PS4 and am debating between these or getting the regular m50's and just doing the detachable mod and using any mic.

I honestly don't think AT will do that. There may be some third party cables coming but as for inline mics I doubt it as of now.

I cancelled the order, and went for the regular black ones instead. I really wanted the blue ones because they look so nice, but not enough to wait an extra month. These are going to be my first good pair of closed headphones , and I could not be more excited for them to arrive.

I already pre-ordered the blue ones. I'm gonna keep my pre-order the same, but I'm really disappointed that they were delay. These will also be my first pair of "good" headphones. I am very excited about receiving them. Hopefully there wont be any more delays

the waiting gave me enough time to do research and I ended up getting GT770 250Ω! l just got em now gotta burn them in and lets see how it goes. Had M50 for sometime before & though haven't cancelled my per-order from Amazon yet!

I think I will take one of the included cables, cut off the proprietary connector and solder a female 3.5mm jack on the other end.

Not a perfect solution, but it should work for things like the MVoda boompro mic and whatever else.

On a side note, does anyone here know of a good place to order a high quality female jack?

I just found this review of the limited edition ATH-M50x on twitter and I'm a bit shocked be the coloring of these headphones. Depending on the lighting, the blue can appear to be way more blue than I was expecting it to be. I like it. The LE headpones actually look better in that reviews photos than Audio Technica's promotoitional photos.

Now I'm just wishing March 19th would hurry up and get here already.

Seeing this image makes me wish I got the blue. Blue and tan or brown are my favorite color combination.

Goes well with my shoes

Those look so badass....I can't wait to get them

I know, the gadgetnerdly photos show them popping so much more than the normal photos. They look so much better in that review that it makes me wonder if the review photos were faked to make them look so blue. All of the official photos are way darker than that site's.

The photo isn't fake, it's just the way it was taken. The photo is overexposed making them look lighter than they are. The headphones should look good outside if it's sunny or bright, but they're just really dark in general. I wish they made the pads a dark brown or just darker.

If the headphones are overexposed, shouldn't the backpack also be overxposed? Or his desk? in the actual review, there are photos of the headphones indoors and they look just as blue as the backpack shot.  I dunno, but I hope they look like they do in the photo Phillkill posted, because they do loook better in it than they do in the Amazon pics. What sucks is we can't get them till March 19th, unlike that website which already has and reviewed them.

The BLUE will be manufactured throughout 2014. No production numbers where disclosed. Once the inventory sells out that will be it. So if you want the BLUE, get it before production ends.

Well the headphones are the focus point and there are highlights on the headphone. It looks like they did something wrong. The headphones look weird in different lighting scenarios.

Take this video for example (in Chinese)

I agree, in everything I've seen, they look super dark, almost black, but when you look at the gadgetnerdly photos, you can see the blue against black multiple times. One shot shows the actual cable, which is blue and black on the very end and you can clearly see that the blue is way brighter than it appears in other shots. I would post the pic that I'm talking about, but I am too new here.

Does anyone here actually have the limited edition ath-m50x headphones? If so, is the blue as blue as it is in the gadget nerdly review? Also, how does he have those if they've been delayed tilll march 19th?

Well, one head-fi person has a pair of the blue, he even posted a picture of them in the thread. Here.

Here is their profile if you'd like to contact them for more pictures: Diseree
