USPS lost my package, what to do?

So my package has been sitting at a sort facility for the last 7 days, and hasn't moved. Do I wait it out another week? What can I even do? I did not get insurance (lesson learned right) and I was sending the package back to B&H. Not sure what good calling them would do (actually I already tried and couldn't get through).

Any suggestions?

I assume you have a tracking number.  If you do, keep trying and call the Post Office to have them investigate your package. Perhaps the local weather may contribute to the delay. Good luck.

Call them again, on Monday morning. That's all you could pretty much do (that I know). I hope this issue get resolved, good luck!

One possibility is that the package is being inspected. When I sold my tube amp on here, it looked like it was just stuck in a sort facility for a ridiculous amount of time at first. Then, lo and behold, once it left the sort facility the tracking also said "cleared customs." I'm guessing the USPS guys had their mind blown by tubes or thought my OCD level packaging was suspicious or something. Anyway, point is that the tracking number didn't show that it was inspected by customs until after it cleared. That could possibly be what's going on here. Sometimes people smuggle drugs inside electronics, so your package could have caught the eye of the neanderthal manning the X-ray scanner.

I don't think sending a package going from Washington State to B&H (NY) has to go through customs.

I thought that customs only applied to international as well. But my package from PA to CA did in fact go through customs. It seems like any package that gets flagged for inspection, domestic or international, will go through customs.

Perhaps you've had one too many phone calls from Pakistan? :D

So what brand is it that we should be avoiding? That's really weird that Customs would be messing with domestic packages.

I taped the crap out of all the seams because I'm neurotic.

Check it out (I redacted a few things to keep my exact hometown private):

Whomever you've ticked off at Homeland Security, hell, "I've never heard of you before." :D That was pretty weird.

Took  2 weeks for a package  to travel from MN to WA via first class- weather and the holiday sure contributed

stopped tracking after it left my city

lesson I learned:

always use Priority or the other guys  and request signatures on valuable items

hopefully yours shows up
