Full Size Headphones for rock/metal; budget ~$500

Hi guys,

Sorry for what's likely a redundant post, but I'm extremely indecisive and need a little guidance.

I'm looking for a full size headphone (closed or open, no real preference) that will be powered most often by my iPhone (+ an amp if the headphone requires).  Typically I listen to rock--Tool, A Perfect Circle, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, etc.

I enjoy punchy bass, but wouldn't consider myself a bass head. My most recent pair of headphones were the ATH-M50 and I enjoyed that, but I'm looking for something a step up.  These headphones will mainly be used at home and work (noise isn't too much of a concern at work).

I'd consider the V-Moda M100's if I were you, and a good Cmoy.

Are there any variations to the CMOY amps, or is there only 1 version?

The beauty of the CMOY is that you can build one for very cheap, or upgrade some of the components. Either way, it is still an affordable, solid design.
