As others said, they need considerable burn in. With about a weeks cook time they will sound tremendous. I highly recommend burning them in more and trying them again.

Since then I bought an EPH-100, which was smoother, warmer, but the treble was a bit weird and had less details, and also the construction was not so imperssive. I sent it back. Now I bought an RHA-MA750 which has better build quality (really nice), V-shape, more bass than GR07BE, less than the Yamaha, less clarity and details, but overall more fun sounding. Now I have the GR07BE yet, maybe I try to give it some weeks, but I dont really belive that it will change significantly. Its annoying with some electro music and harsh songs like e.g. Bon Jovi Have a Nice day. I use an iPhone 4, I dont know that with other players how much difference would I experience..
BTW I tried since then some earphones:
DN-1000 - its nice, but I did not like the treble, I prefer the 07BE even if it also annoys.
SE215: Okay, but lack of details, the clarity is not so good for the money. I found uncomfortable compared to GR06/GR07/EPH-100.
SE215LTD: Awful, worse than SE215 for me, less clarity, too much bass and does bleed into everything.
EPH-100: bad construction (moisture issue), thin cable, nice clarity, very good bass, weird highs - bit squeaky. With better cable for less money it would be fine.
RHA-MA750: clarity is ok (better than SE215 and worse than 07BE), V-shaped, so a bit veiled mids, not so detailed like 07Be and even (a bitt less) than the Yamaha.
SE425: nice clarity and stage, but not enough bass for my taste.
