Bose StayHear+ Tips MODDED to my Sony XBA-4 IEM! - Page 2

I ordered mine and when they arrive I have an idea of cutting the part that latches onto my xba's from some of the smallest tips and gluing that onto the Bose tips. I will post some pics and see how it works. I'm very particular with my ear tips so I don't think gluing them directly will suit me, I might want to change them again within a day.

Just got them in the mail, starting the mod now. My plan is to take out the guys if an original Sony ear bud and put it into the Bose. Will update.

Ok I used the smallest size of Sony ear bud replacement I had and it was the noise cancelling version. I pulled out all of the dampening materials and then cut the outside portion.

I then pushed the remaining into the Bose ear buds. They seem to stay in pretty well but I do notice a little play if you don't seat them onto the xba4.

I am in no way a professional so take my findings with care. I think they sound a little more spacious than with the standard ear buds. I'm hearing a little more bass but it's not necessarily the best controlled bass. I still need to listen way more before finding out if this is for me. I can say that they feel comfortable and stay in place about 100% better. I'm going to listen to them in more detail tomorrow. Let me know if interested, I probably won't post more unless someone wants specifics. I still don't understand my ears enough to make solid recommendations on mods.

Also on a side note you do get two pairs for about 10 dollars of the Bose ear buds. Make sure they are the right size for you, wrong size and you will end up with pain.
