Do I just get a Nuforce Icon DAC? Or is there something comparable for under $300?

I want a USB DAC, headphone amp and analog preamp in a single compact box for my desktop. I don't want an analog line out as I need to control my BX5a from the DAC and I need an analog line in for occasionally connecting a portable audio player. I also need the preouts to mute when I plug headphones in or be able to switch between the preamp and headphone outputs.

The Nuforce Icon HDP and DAC both match what I want but I'm wondering what else I should consider.

If you want to look outside the box a little this unit costs around $250 and does everything you want (and more)

The icon HDP is discontinued. I own it and love it to bits. Still delivers.

The MicroBook II looks good but I won't have any use for the guitar and mic inputs but the price is pretty good.

The Audio-GD Compass 2 is exactly what I want but the price is too high.

Does anyone know if I can mute the preouts on the E09k when I want to listen to headphones? If so, I'd get one of those and an E17.
