thanks a lot! cancelling my order then. will look for those Mee tips

As djvkool said, the retuned 3X does not have any sibilance issue or something like squealing, at least i can hardly find sibilance from my songs i have been listening to.

Just upgraded from UE SF3, I like my 3X so much.

That's the photo from the link above :)  Looks better on black than on clear I think, but still not great.  Far preferred the "old" one :)

Thank you for just joining today posting no-where else but in this thread and sharing that with us.

Some more reassurance is a positive thing. ;)

I'm sure it'll fine, I trust djvkools judgment.

Just different tolerance is a concern, fit, tips, insertion depth, sources can effect the outcome such as output impedance, volume levels etc.

Lots of variants.

=) all true. if the form factor is similar to Mentor then I'm fairly ok with the isolation/fit. Tips wise I'm somewhat surprised to hear it's not T4/500
other than that I'm mostly concerned about the bass port wind noise at the moment. Source-wise I imagine C3 (presumably what djvcool uses) and Clip+/Zip would produce comparable results re - RMAA. except you guys say C3 sounds better :P

'hot treble' wise, true re tolerance. wonder if they retuned it or just stuck an acoustic filter in biggrin.gif

btw - plastic or metal nozzle and how long is it?

Similar from above 100Hz, with less sub-bass below, You should hear more detail, air, snappier attack to instrument separation from C3. Though with you I'm unsure - you might be a hard case to crack away from the Sansas so It's like an experiment.

About the wind noise I never took the first version outside so can't comment, I enjoyed the build quality, they made for some nice photos.

Thread Starter

I'm going to send this to White Lotus a couple of days earlier to get this tour moving again, I planned on Friday but am now sending on Wednesday, I feel kinda guilty abandoning Merlin while this is around haha...

So tried variety of cables with this, Beat Audio Supernova, Null Audio Lune, eBay silver plated copper (SPC) - and so far, eBay's SPC cable is the best match (the same cable also matches best with my LSX5 and Merlin) - only 1 more cable to try on tonight, the eBay's pure copper, I'll give my final impression in a couple of days plus some thoughts with the different cables.

tips recommended is wide bore silicone, as the nozzle is quite wide so I won't recommend small bore tips, most of us here owns Dunu DN-1000 so head straight to the same type of tips

@svyr - you won't have any problem fitting this in mate, the body/nozzle combination is pretty big and deep, and I think made for large/deep canal, I normally use L/XL tips but found that medium-size tips suit me best with the 3X
