Crap new logo, thick and bold, and looks like it is drawn by a 3yo...

...but then again, sound matters, so I'm not that fuss really...

The new logo is schiiit lol.

The normal UM logo is really nice though. IMO of course.

That first song by Jasmine Thompson is fairly badly recorded in the way of sibilance. I tend to use it as a focus point to observe how well an IEM can hide or mask the vocal shaping. Something like my 1Plus2 or RDB is still not completely absent, (though notably under control). An ER4S can pull that song off quite nicely. So if the revised 3X you have is keeping it subdued they should be pleasing. You must also test them at above average listening levels, otherwise you're not pulling all the detail from the mid range, this in turn will increase the sibilance. Basically what you want is a balance, so the earphone can push out detail while keeping sibilance restrained to suitable levels.

Don't worry guys, @svyr and myself won't pull punches with our impressions - we'll find something wrong with them

BTW - UM generally have good build quality, here are some photos of my Unique Melody re-shelled Westones (single Knowles TWFK-30017 high, two Knowles CI-22955 for Mid and lows)

Looking forward to hearing the 3X!

So, are these available in Australia through @Acustoms ? Or would we hypothetically go straight to UM?

Yes sir, I'll do that tonight

I think that the mold changes a bit, this new one looks like the same universal mold as The Mentor

Exclusive to UM UK only at the moment, which is tricky as our $$ is kinda crap at the moment, almost exactly half I think...

Sorry if I sounded harsh, as you can understand I'm interested in the retuning but going on words it's difficult.

If you can compare that track (Jasmine Thompson) with the Dunu DN-1000 and tell me if the 3X sound smoother when she forms Sss notes, that will give me a better idea.

Bascially which one exhibits the least vocal sibilance between them at moderate volume.

Hahaha, mate don't be sorry, seriously, I am guided by you, you heard pretty much the pinnacle of the hybrid (so most people said), 1P2, so you know how bad/good the old 3X unit was, so any suggestion you have for me, please by all means, I'm all ears...

Before I send the 3X to Mr Pink Lotus at the end of the week, I will definitely do some A/B with DN-1000, and Merlin to some extent, and will try to use all of my cables to see which one matches best with 3X...

...and 1 thing I know for sure, 3X and Aune T1...damn...PHWOAARR!!!

With some stem stretching you will, but really you don't want to use Sony hybrids as it has a small(ish) nozzle, with this 3X, you need something with large/wide nozzle - have a look at tips from Meelectronic, it's single flange silicone is one of the best silicone tips out there
