Unique Melody 3X Universal Triple Hybrid - AUSTRALIAN TOUR and Impressions - Page 9

Guys, ready to pass this on. I just don't see me using it at all with my newly acquired HE-500.

I can get them from you Thursday/Friday?

Yeah, sure! You you want me to drop them off or do you want to come and collect them?

I'll let you know. Cheers!

Hi guys - I must halt this tour for the time being, as I am exchanging my unit to the new batch, which according to UM has been re-tuned to smoothen the treble from peaks and sibilance.

I need this to be with me by Friday ideally, or Monday at the very latest, so if White Lotus would like to have a 'quick' audition, then by all means, just send it to me by express post if you could?

I will re-commence the tour again a week after I get my replacement unit, it will continue with White Lotus, both Lin0007 and H20Fidelity will get the chance to re-audition at the tail end of the tour if they wish to.

I will be sending my unit back to UM UK with express, and they are sending me the replacement with Fed Ex, so it shouldn't take too long

Thank you, sorry for the inconvenience...

I am happy to wait for the new batch, I won't have heaps of time to listen to the current ones. I haven't picked them up yet - @lin0003 can you get these to @djvkool instead of myself, please?

Sure, I'll post them to you by express. Send me your address again please.

For those that tried these, what's the isolation like on them?

Interesting that they've retuned them already.  Wonder if that's due to feedback or something else.

the official answer from UM UK:

Apologies for the delay, we've looked at some of the feedback and tweaking the IEMs slightly to resolve those issues.

really good

Yesterday the UM 3X arrived:

first impressions: i think UM solved the sibilance issue - i can't hear prominent sibilance (maybe it can be slightly noticeable with female voices but often it is due to bad mastering)

coming from dynamic and BA IEM's this is my first hybrid style - therefore i can't compare it with other hybrids.

My favorite IEM is Westone W4R. I like neutral signatures and find that UM 3X is also more on the neutral side - it is definetely no IEM for bassheads.

lows have very good quality and are not dominating the mids and highs. I tested all genres and IMHO X3 is also suitable for universal purpose.

resolution and microdetails are good but not perfect compared to other multi BA IEM's. They really begin to shine with tracks with high amounts of bass and acoustics (for example "Alice in Chains - No Exuses"). The shell and nozzle is relatively big, so people with small ears could get problems with the comfort.

I think my brain needs more time to adapt to the sound signature - I am excited to hear your opinions after restarting your tour.
