Bayerdynamic MMX300

Hey guys I am going back to University in 2015 and in the meanwhile I have a very high paying job. While I can I am building a computer as future proof as possible. I picked up the MMX 300 to round out my audio. However...the 2013 model for 450 dollars didn't include a amp to power these headphones.

To be completely honest for the price I didn't expect get jewed as they had included it on the previous model. At the moment they sound terrible being used with my old machines realtec audio. Any help with what I need to order in order to get the best sound quality out of these headphones for pc gaming would be much appreciated.

For sound cards I am looking at the following

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD

Creative Sound Blaster Z Series ZXR

ASUS Xonar Essence STX

HT | OMEGA Claro Halo 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card w/ a built-in HI-FI Headphone Amplifier

HT | OMEGA Claro Halo XT PCI Interface Sound Card w/ a built-in HI-FI Headphone Amplifier

Obviously money isn't an issue however I don't want to be an idiot about it either. I listen to all types of music and do not have a preference for a certain type. I am just very confused about the differences between external/internal/amps/ etc.

Thanks guys

I just picked up the latest pair of mmx 300's and like you i was a bit surprised to have no usb dac/amp included.

I've just ordered the Creative Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 http://au.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-omni-surround-5-1 which i thought looks quite cool and should easily drive the headset. Once i get it and have a good play with it i'll post my thoughts on it.
