New headphones have slight crackling noise (onkyo es-fc300) and Help with MMCX cables

Hello,

I just received my new pair of Onkyo ES-FC300 headphones and when I was testing them, I noticed that sometimes the right side will exhibit a crackling noise when I tilt my head to the left slightly. This doesn't happen every time I tilt my head, but when it does it makes a crackling sound, as if the connection was cutting on and off. In fact when I tilt it about 30 degrees there's a spot where sound just stops coming out from the right side. I'm wondering if this is normal for headphones? Since usually people don't tilt their heads while listening. It doesn't happen all the time, but the fact that it does bothers me.

If this isn't normal then I'm going to ask the retailer for a replacement/exchange.

My second question is about the MMCX connector with these Onkyo headhphones. For anyone who has them or anyone who has experience with MMCX connectors, how do I tell when it's securely in? There's 1 click and after that the connector can still freely rotate and move somewhat, but I couldn't seem to make it any tighter. Is this how this connector is supposed to be or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Onkyo seems to have a little build problem sometime as my friend's onkyo had some problems with the connector within a few weeks. Id be careful. They do sound very nice tho.

That's definitely not a normal problem though. Id ask for a new pair and be careful with that pair afterwards.

Not sure about the connector tho. Didnt really pay attention when i tried the onkyos. Sorry

Yeah I sent a request to get a replacement. They do sound really nice though. I've read most of the problem is with the connector. Also i could return it and get something like an ATH M50 but if i return i'll have to pay shipping and restocking fee. :(

the m50's are not very portable and not very comfortable to me. YMMV however
