I am here again for another headphone suggestion. I have my requirements almost just as before :

1. SQ - It is my most important thing i look for in a headphone. Should be good without an amp for all kinds of music

2. Closed Cans

3. Isolation - Good isolation because i work in noisy environments.

4. Bass - I prefer Punchy bass. I am not a basshead and i hate boomy bass.

5. Should be easy to drive from a macbook pro.

Could you/anyone compare the HD380 with the NAD Viso HP50 and PSB M4Us?

Get some Sennheiser Momentum's on sale, you could get some likely for $320, a bit more but well worth it. The SQ is breathtaking for its price range.

The B&W P5 and V-Moda M100 are both quality options as well.

Would the on ear P5 work well for isolation?  When I think isolation, I think over ear.

If you read Bower and Wilken's description of the P5 they call them "noise-isolating" headphones. I'll leave a conclusion to your question up to you ;)

I will try them on when i am out over the weekend. I cant try on the rest. I might as well buy the Momentum if they sound good. i just saw Tyll's (from innerfidelity) review on both Momentum and HP50s. He seems to prefer the HP50s better. Should i take that into account? because i have no place where i can try on the HP50s.

The price of the Sennheiser Momentum is so varied on various resellers around here. i have found one of them selling it for $240 but the sennheiser online store sells them for $350 and the on-ears one for like $250. But the product description says over the ear design and the product name says the same, and on another product listing he is selling the on-ears for the market price of $250. Should i buy it from them or is it fake? i have bought headphones from them before and they are all legit as per the description.

P.S : its the red variant and the black is still about $350. why is it so much more expenssive? is there any technical/sonic difference that i am missing?

nope, I just, personally, opted for that color way. Its exactly the same headphone as the brown one.

you can get the full-sized ones for 299 in the brown from Moon Audio @ moon-audio.com. I'd shy away from the on-ear incarnation of the Momentums, they just aren't nearly as good either either SQ or isolation. Where you can get the black & red momentums for >$300, frankly, I'm not sure.
