Will Fiio E07K/E17/E18 work with Sony DAP or Android Phone?

Hi all

At present I'm using a Sony NWZ-E454 8GB DAP and my Motorola Defy (UK) Mobile so I can play audio in the car (the Sony hasn't got enough grunt).

From reading all the reviews, a Fiio E07K/E17/E18 might just fit the bill.

So, my question is:

Would any of the above DAC/AMPs work (via the correct cables) with my SONY DAP or Motorola and drive my Grado SR60s well?

Or should I just get the X3 and call it a day? :)

Cheers in advance

Never mind. I've decided to go with a O2/DAC combo for the desk and I'll just get an X3 or ipod Video (5G Rockboxed) for the car. Thread close. :)

For desktop dac/amp, you may want to look at these two also

Thanks for the links rubinstein. I think the O2/DAC will do me for now as it's £60 for the kit, give me the neutrality I'm after and frankly, a very good excuse to start doing DIY electronics at home again. Maybe in a few years I can then upgrade into the £££ end of things. ;)

are you gonna buy this one http://www.jdslabs.com/products/39/odac-objectivedac/?

how will you connect to the amp? do you have a dedicated amp? I am just curious.

I suggested you Audio GD 15.32/11.32, after looking at this one http://www.jdslabs.com/products/48/o2-odac-combo/ (I thought that you were gonna buy O2/Odac combo).

Both 15.32 and 11.32 have more output power than O2/Odac combo.

I did come across the JDSLabs stuff first when reading up on the O2/DAC set-ups, but whilst looking for UK resellers, I found a place in Switzerland that sells full DIY kits which are halve the price of the JDS stuff and for an electronic engineer like me, building a kit and saving half the money is a no brainer!

The kit I'm looking at is here: http://www.headnhifi.com/diy-kits/o2-kit-full and it also appears they do the ODAC card for another £60, which after seeing this post http://www.pbase.com/objective3/inbox means I can fit the ODAC into the standard small case and have room for the batteries at a later date. :D

I understood already that you are an electrical engineer :). Thanks for the links.
