Home amp

Hi, I listen to music only at home and I was looking for headphone amp but my friend suggested I could get full size audio amplifier. I wanted to know if I could connect it to my computer and if It would be better than just a headphone amp. If yes, what kind of amplifier should I get around 200-250$?

You can get a nice old vintage amp for $50-300 depending on condition, power and brand and it will make a phenomenal headphone amp, and power speakers as well.

And with a DAC you can hook up your computer to it as well and have a great sounding digital music library.  I'm using a NuForce uDac 2 for a HP netbook --->Kenwood KA-5700 integrated amp (cost me $80) into TH900's and the sound is amazing.
