wondering if there was or will be any portable music player which can play FLAC files from an external SSD, my music collection is huge and increasing so thought about getting 256gb external SSD as for its small, wont get media damaged if taked on the go and can be on my pocket. basically hear the music i have inside the ssd to hear with a music player, 24/196 preferable (but not too neccesary)

Check the iBasso DX50 thread. It has a microSD slot (not SD) but perhaps you can make the switch. Additionally, I believe some have got it to work with external hard drive (USB OTG).

The older iriver HD series had some high capacity mods (with alternative firmware) but I think they're harder to come by nowadays.
