Every couple of years I jump on this site to make a purchase. I find these forums overwhelming (and I mean that as a compliment) and every recommendation that you have provided me has been fantastic.
So, I have to get a pair of headphones for a 7 year old girl. These will mainly be for tablet listening (movies) while traveling. But also for music listening at home. My first priority is protection of her hearing. We're looking into whether her Kindle can have the volume locked (parentally) and that alone might alleviate my concerns. I prefer over the ear to dampen outside noise. To be honest, she's years away from needing "good sounding" headphones. That's why the other thread on kids stuff doesn't appeal to me...the price isn't worth it to me for the purpose I'll need them for.
Bonus points if they are kinda cool looking. And that's not shorthand for pink, but something with color or designs definitely wouldn't hurt.
I don't want them breaking the first time she doesn't treat them perfectly. She's careful with her possessions, but she's also 7.
I don't have a price point exactly. If you can make an argument for a 50 dollar pair, then I'm in. But if 25 dollars hits all my "needs", then that works too.
