I have a working main board for an iPod video 5th generation. The only exception is that when I was detaching the headphone ribbon cable from the flip-up latch on the main board, I broke accidentally broke off the tiny brown, movable clip that holds the cable in the connector.
The connector is still secured on the main board, but the clip does not go back in the connector.
An eBay seller is offering an entire replacement connector, and I'd consider buying it, but I don't know the level of difficulty to replace the entire connector on the main board.
Is this something that requires soldering, or will is snap on and off?
Here is the listing:
… and a picture of the portion of main board affected (although this is not a photo of my main board):
Thanks in advance!
