That's a real shame, I just found some pictures of the plug for the HD8, I don't think there are any 2.5mm iOS cables that will be able to work with that recessed jack.

Can someone from Sennheiser PLEASE consider creating a 1.2m cable accessory for the HD8/7/6 series with the Momentum's awesome metal remote?

My HD8's are out for delivery...even though we are expecting 8 inches of snow here as I speak.

Just got mine ...nicely packaged, carry case is as per Sennheiser's usual - quite big, however looks pretty sturdy. The construction of the cans is good too, however have noticed a 'squeak' when the cups are moved, slightly irritating when putting them on, but okay when moving around. Sound wise pretty good so far with a quick listen over half an hour or so.Detail is excellent, lots of bass and overall quite a warm sound to my ears. Cup size is good - if you found the Momentum's to be on the small side, you'll be happier with these. I'm pleased with them so far.

Tested with my AK120 and HDVD 800 / MacBook Pro Retina - both with lossless files and had a quick two mins with my iPad - all good.

Yes, finally. "Detail is excellent, lots of bass and overall quite a warm sound to my ears." I like the sound of that!

I hope you don't mind a few questions thrown your direction. How are the highs? Do the mids sound recessed at all, and does bass intrude into the mids? Are they punchy like the HD25-ii?

Pretty punchy sound, I was concerned that the mids would be recessed when I first put them on, but I'm happy with them. I've only tried the HD25 II's once and can't recall what they were like. I have a pair of Amperiors and they sound better in terms of bass delivery (which is tight and controlled) and the level of detail is good - so much so, that I bought an album off bandcamp which sounded fine through my speakers in my study, but not so good on the HD8's - poor quality recording became obvious.

"I have a pair of Amperiors and they sound better in terms of bass delivery"

Meaning Amperiors sound better in bass delivery or the HD8 do? I had Amperior and I really liked everything but the comfort. Would you consider the HD8 to beat them, or at least equal them, in sound quality? I am buying HD8 either way.

Sorry, I worded that badly - the HD8' have more bass. Overall I'd say the HD8's are better overall. For portable use however, the two cables are too long on the HD8's, hope they bring out a 1.2m cable for them to use out & about. Comfort wise, they're excellent, have had them on for the past hour - changed to the velour pads, which I prefer.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. And I agree, they need to come out with an 'out and about' cable, 9'+ just won't cut it. Their site says 'both up to 3m', so I'm guessing the coiled cable is shorter than 3m when not extended.

Any more comparisons against other headphones?

I don't have anything else that would be comparable in terms of price, etc. I have a pair of Denon 7100's which are huge compared to them and a lot more expensive, but the HD8's have a deeper bass, but not as airy in terms of spatial presentation.

How's the isolation on those babies?

Pretty good, less leakage than the Amperiors and better isolation than the Momentum's.

MMM....all good things I am hearing so far (via GSARider)...any hour now I'll get these babies. I'll most likely be using these with the coiled cable, as it is much more functional as a DJ headphone that way. (Stretching, Reaching, Moving...not having to worry about putting stress on the 1/4 input.)

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on them. Now if I can just get rid of the damned squeak, I'll be happy...!

I've been holding my wallet tight, didn't quite budge on the Amperior or the Momentum. Although I would love to hear what they sound like. I have used the HD25 regularly for years, and also have used an incredible amount of other DJ/Bass related headphones. Maybe try putting a little WD40? Coconut Oil? Or just let it work itself out. Otherwise, I've been stuck inside my apartment all day and am excited to spin a set with the HD8s when they arrive.
