**SOLVED** Finally: Looking at second-hand flagships (Budget is around $1000). But do any fit the bill? - Page 3

<Sigh>   I've managed to only spend about $200 on headphone audio in the last 3 years.   Back in 2010 or so, I made the decision to go ahead and bite the bullet and just get what I want and would enjoy.  $1200 later I have what I consider a very nice sounding Stax rig.   This was just before (or just before they became widely known) the new phones from Audez and HiFiman hit the scene.

So tomorrow is the Austin meet and I plan to spend some quality time with a pair of LCD-2's, which I know full well may lead to a purchase.

Oh well, it's not like I'm being forced.   Hey that gives me a great idea:  Would someone hold a gun to my head and tell me to buy the LCD-2....that way I won't have any guilt....it won't be my fault.

Well hey, thanks! Arve and the other guys also help make that place what it is!

I've actually read that the Mani/modi stack does well with the LCD-2. I might  look into it. So cost affordable..

Perhaps.. Maybe the sound signature will be a little dark for your tastes, after being used to a STAX set-up? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, please do report back!

I wasn't sure if OJneg and Arve use head-fi or not, so my thanks is being directed to YOU. Accept it. Modding is a thankless job, you guys deserve gratitude, it's a great subreddit.
