I have the Tralucent silver/gold alloy cable here with me. I may give that a shot on the N6 later.

I understand. I may be sending my Noble 6 out on a short loan tour in the next couple of weeks, max 4 people. I'll contact you then.

Let's do this...I think I'm pretty much leaning towards the SE846 (though the new Westone W60 makes we want to wait).  If I do get the SE846 over the next couple of weeks, I'll let you know.  Maybe we could do a short exchange, give you a chance to give the Shures a try.

is that the black coated silver/gold?

if so, the impressions u get from that cable will differ quite significantly with the other silver/gold alloy cables

I experimented my 1+2 with the stock 'gold' cable (black coating), which i thought the soundstage was rather wide but little flat with the vocals kinda laid back. Then upon acquiring a piccolino as well as another silver/gold cable, both of them offered a similar sound sig, but significantly different to the stock gold.

Later on i passed on my piccolino cable to my friend, in which, he also found the sound to be very noticeable (without amp, straight out of stock AK120) with his 1+2 compared against the stock gold cable.

anyhow, it would be interesting to see how u feel the N6 paired with the tralucent silver/gold cable, i would suspect that the bloated bass would tighten up a bit.

I am a westone fan, or used to be, always loved the comfort of their iem

but to be honest, not really feeling the 'look' of the W50/60. Hopefully the UM PRO 50 looks slightly better

Just found your thread Eke, nicely done. I am glad you posted impressions of the S-EM6, as I had conisdered it a little while back... I decided to hold off though. And your impressions surely confirm that I won't be getting a pair.

I am contemplating the SE846 currently though!

Wow that's not's the first time I've heard the sd3 called cloudy or dark.  I was very interested in the sd range but it seems to vary from the 3 being "dark and bassy" to the 2 being too neutral and boring.

Haven't heard the SD2, but the 3 was a big wow for me when it came to how dark it was.

For reference, could you let us know approx how long you been using the n6, asg2, and sem6? (I.e. burn/use time)

I've had the N6 since before the new year, and it was my sole item while the g2 was out on loan. The s-em6 is a loaner from a friend who has used them a lot. The asg-2 has been used heavily since mid last year. All are now looser than my first girlfriend.

I think that perception of darkness may vary depending the source, and on your ears. I owned the SD3 and they were dark but clearly not THAT much. They worked really well on the AK100 modded but the bass bleeded into the mids a bit much for my taste. The Fitear 335 I find significantly darker for instance. As for the S-EM6 that I had for a month, they are slightly on the darker side, due to their "non sparklmy" trebble, but once again not that much, less then the SD3 and much less than the 335. And I do have bright iems such as NT6 or 1Plus2 to compare. But once again perceptions may vary, and mine is just what it is...

True. All I offer is an opinion.
