They are pretty cheap right now (about $90) on Amazon.Compared to the AD700x which is about $140, it seems like a good choice.

These are gonna be strictly gaming and some music, so the lack of bass might/ might not bother me.

I was also looking at the Sennheiser 518, as they seem to have some more bass, but still a nice soundstage (also cheaper at $78)

If you have any other recommendations that are under $90 they are appreciated.

I've heard the Audio Technica ATH-TAD500 is fairly good.

You would need to order it off Amazon or eBay and it ships from Japan.

Might be able to find a used Sennheiser HD558 for a low price.

Hi,

Probably Pioneer Se-A1000 is your best bet! Unbelievably cheap, huge soundstage, and still pretty good sound quality!

Best Luck!

Wow! That price is pretty damn good. I could spend a bit more, do you have a reccomendation that is maybe $70-$80? Or am i better off trying these?

Yes, sure. Pioneer Se A1000 Msrp was over 150 dollars. I prefer them over my Fidelio L1.

I've been reading the appreciation thread, and it has me convinced. I'll try these out for sure, at $55 it's extremely hard to pass up.

Would you choose the Pioneer's over the Sennheiser 558?

I'm not really sure. I know there is a simple mod to make HD558 sound pretty close to HD598. I think HD558 is at least twice the price of these Pioneers nowadays. Law of diminishing returns applies here for sure, but I don't have enough experience with Sennheisers to help you at this point.
