A small update on the HE-400i's status would be nice. It's like these headphones don't exist anymore lol.

+1

Seems that HFM has gone a bit silent. Haven't heard from them in a while. Something about a holiday right now possibly.

Or maybe they have their hands full with the 560 launch. They probably have some things to account for.
I am sure they'll focus on the 400i as the 560 is launched.

Yeah but these have already taken a back seat with this community. That makes me sad, the 400i is the one new headphone I'm excited about.

They're is a possibility that they're going to be overshadowed by the 560 slightly, but the real reason why they haven't been talked about is that people actually have the 560 in hand right now and some real information is better than speculated information.

It just makes good business sense to launch the higher end product first when coming out with new models. It means more sales for hifiman for the upper eschelon product.

Hi xxxxxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting us.

I can not find the output power directly from their specs. If the output is around 1 w, it would be OK to drive HE-500. I'm afraid DX90 may not drive it to its full performance. EF-5 would be a perfect match for HE-500.

HE-400i is very efficient, it can be easily driven without an amp. Maybe you can have a try of HE-400i. But the exact release date for HE-400i is still unknown. It may take one month.

Despite their efficiency, the board will soon been swarmed with claims that Amp X has better "synergy" or not. People will use 8 watt amps anyway. Lol.

But seriously, I can't wait to see if the 400is manage to make a splash or not.

Nothing until I get my hands on some reviews or a chance to hear them for myself on my available equipment. Waiting, Waiting,        waiting . . . . .  . .
