Is there a shop where you can test listen both? That's the best way to find out.

What did you use to take out the filters?

Has anyone tried using the Philips SHE3590's or JVC fx40's tips on the IM50?

I've been listening to my IM50 with pop songs, and noticed that the amount of bass it reproduced is quite little compared to the other frequencies. The singers' voice can be clear and sharp, but the bass presence is pretty weak.

Does anybody experience this too?

*I'm using the default silicon tips, the largest one.

Did you take out the filter? From my experience stock tips are bad and muffle the sound. Try some sony hybrids if you have.

Favorite to least favorite: RE0>IM50>SF5

RE0s are my all time favorite.

From what I hear, the main difference lies in the bass. The IM50 already has got deep thumping sub bass. IM70 hits with more impact and decay. It may be a touch too bassy unless you're an all-time bass head. I do notice the greater amount of bass on IM70 is slightly hindering clarity on it. Seems like there's a slight veil covering the lower mids. Treble presence I feel that the IM70 is marginally forward when compared directly to IM50 though still laid back, smooth and relax. Sony hybrid tips sounds better than the stock tips though not day and night difference. However, fit and isolation can be tricky at times.

I see I see. I have some Sony hybrid tips from my XBA-40. Will try them. Just contemplating if I should shell out the extra 100 for the Dunu DN1000 but maybe not. Will most likely pick up the 70's.

I believe the Dunu is another league above the IM50/70. But I do find the IM50 to be more enjoyable than my Xba30.

Those with IM50/70, you've got to hear this.

I feel that the IM50 has a light Lower Bass(Not Sub Bass), anyone else agree?

Hear the bass thump in the background music:

It does not really sound impactful on my IM50.
