I wouldn't sell HE-500 before trying out HE-560. Who's to say people won't prefer the HE-500 over HE-560? After all, it's already a proven success. Especially if they discontinue the HE-500, this could cause the price of the HE-500 to go up, especially if it can hold its own unique sound signature or ends up being sonically preferred. It looks the focus has been more on ergonomics and comfort for the new headphones. As others have mentioned, single-sided magnets are harder to control distortion. This has happened before with other headphones where people prefer the older over the newer like the Stax SR-007 mk1 is preferred over the mk2.
