Lmao! So I've been seeing HE-500s on the classifieds already. There used to be maybe 1 HE500 in the whole entire classifieds before this forum popped up. Now there are about 6 on the first 2 pages...

It's local, 1 hour drive but it seems I'm too lazy.. He'll probably just send it.

Nice score on the he5le!! I suspect that we'll see a lot of 500's on the sale forum in the next month.

I certainly wouldn't give up my baby without at least hearing the consensus on the 560, but to each his own. If it's a serious comfort issue I get it, but I think too many people just feel like they always need the next new product. I'm interested in the 560, but it seems like it's too early to be selling 500's.

I've sold my HE-6 a month or two ago, so I am very interested in either the 400i or 560 :] [Well and later on in the Jade II]

IKR, and with the lowly K550s!  Must be his Ponginae brain.  Imagine what the Jade 2 will do to him.  I'll be cleaning monkey brains off my walls for a week.  Well, I do like to call him a monkey, but of course he's not.  He's an ape, and Rangy is his name.  Can you guess why?

And don't go trying to assimilate him, you Borg bastard!

;)

I'm running it from the emotiva. But I have run it from the starlight and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It doesn't haven't the bass that the emotiva does, but if you're ok with some eq, it really does sound nice.

Only thing with these is the felt is sewn directly under the pad so no stuffing of materials can be done to fatten them and get more driver separation. They're real soft and would seem comfy. Hope they sound good!

Just in case anyone wanted the e-bay seller, the pads got to me in 10 days from date of order:

I guess these are not OEM, right?  Still, I'm interested in hearing how they sound.

Correct, these are just aftermarket pads. The quality is good, pleather is soft and doesn't irritate even with extended listening (had  them on for 4hrs straight last night). The padding itself is a bit stiff initially but even after 4hours they've become softer or conformed. As for sound, I'm somewhat fighting a head cold at the moment so I wouldn't trust what I'm hearing. However, the bass has more impact with the pads it seems. More than even HF non-angled pleather. It does sound a bit like it's bleeding into the mids but this could be due to the lack of venting. I might try a back vent opening mod, similar to Jerg pads to see if that takes the bass away from the mids. Again it's not drastic but with certain songs with the mid-bass emphasized it encroaches into the mids.
