Hmm, with pleather is more wet to me.

Probably more so with the stock pleather due to reflections (Jorg Jerg would be able to explain), but the sound remains on the lush side with velour.

That's what I mean...I mean't the differences are the same idea as "less lush, vs more lush"

I thought you meant HE-500 velour as an example of dry sounding can and HE-500 pleather for wet.

I sincerely hope the 560 is just an upgraded HE-4. In which case I will save myself $$$ and just not get them.

If it's an upgraded HE-500 then my wallet will be slayed in March, unfortunately. Haha.

BTW...

Wet = Singer licking your face and ears

Dry = No licking

I'm considering putting my extra $$ for a new headband for my HE500 :)

Yeah if the headband and earpads are user replaceable with the HE-500, then maybe I'll give those a shot. Especially the new earpads. But otherwise I'm hoping the 560 won't be a HE-500 killer. We'll see in March I guess, but honestly how much better can it get??? Haha. I may have reached the ceiling for my dull non-audiophile ears.

I hope the HE-560 would be an upgrade from both the HE-500 and HE-6, then I will consider to have them.

Do we know if there is a new version of the HE6 coming out? (Not considering the Jade 2)

I don't think so, at least in the near future.

Is it safe to say that the HE560 takes over as new flagship then? Does that explain the 6 in the 560 as opposed to 550 or 600?

How long should I wait to make sure the 560 cups don't come cracking?

I really hope that HiFiMAN do a better quality control on the new products.

post #659 of 3090

^^ Agreed.. I think there will be a lot of early adopters so HiFiMAN really can't afford another QC release issue.  I hope they've been watching Audeze and their debacle with cracking wood cups.  Time will tell.

HiFiman had their own debacle with the HE-5, so I don't think they need to reference Audez'e too much. Haha. In fact I think it was worse for Hifiman.
