Peter

I do know that people have in the past bought replacement (old style) headbands from HFM for a small fee, after emailing the customer service.

I did for my HE-4 but the original screws were bad to the point I could never unscrew them. Ended up exchanging the broken 4s for a like-new one (with the dark blue/glossy cups and gray metal half-rings, vs. the original all black).

The company wants to sell you the entire HP, not just the headband :D

I have to say. The 560s are seriously on my radar as a guy who loves his M100's but really wants to dive into the world of open-back, planar phones.

wondering if I should sell my Pandora and MD for this

must resist (:tongue:yah right!)

I just hope they are not really bright and have depth in the soundstage with solid, full bass!

will wait for reviews that are right around the corner. It just seems that people will have them before a full review has had enough time to be made... as always.

My wallet is begging for these to pull off another price-to-performance ratio miracle to keep me from diving into Audeze land. :p

I'm definitely keeping one eye on the 560s and another on the LCD-2. I'm just ultra interested in what I might be able to get with a pair that I use lying around the house rather than mobile.

Excellent! Any chance we see another price drop on the HE-500's?? Do you guys plan on keeping the HE-500's in the lineup or will you ultimately close them out?? It looks like price point will fit nicely between the HE-400i and HE-560.

Or... Best case scenario the HE-400i's sound so close to the HE-500's that there will no longer be a need for the HE-500 because there is nothing there to justify the higher price point  :D

Either way I'm happy so just curious how you guys plan on moving forward

Thanks,

Shouldn't take long seriously. It's a headphone that does things right. Not complicated to describe if you own a hifiman. The top tier headphone that simply accentuates what a headphone should sound like. Shouldn't take ridiculous amounts of money to create an ear transducer that gives off an airy Soundstage with prescion detail and imaging. Give it a great frequency response with out any spikes and you simply have.... Hifiman.. Giving you greatness .... That you can afford. It's crazy that so many other headphones fall so short of something that once you hear it, is so simplistic of nature yet leaves you craving for more of what you came here for. Music

The value or price/performance of Hifiman cans is outstanding, I hope they keep that strategy.

Honestly, at the price of the he500 on the used market right now, things like the LCD-2 should be putting up no competition at 2x the price. Let alone even at the same price it was often referred to as the worse of the two.
