Awesome...great to hear it. I appreciate that you're making the effort to keep us up to date. Maybe you could share some additional images when appropriate.

Thanks again...

Peter, my man. Help us brothers out and give us some hint of whether or not the headbands will be able to be used on older models. Please? Thanks bro.

The new headband is much different than the previous design and it cannot be retrofitted. Sorry.

I'm still not a fan of the headband's. I wish they were removable, but for now we'll have to wait and see.

Hey Peter, not even with some elbow grease and an afternoon in the tool shed?

If I'm not mistaken the new line still have the same driver cup dimensions as the older HFM headphones, with the same spots for the yoke swivels to connect. Unless you guys use a completely different screw diametre now for those swivel joints, it should be retrofittable, no?

+1 wat? Either way, I'm fine with the current headband--just glad the pads are retrofittable

Jerg, I don't think so. The new headband was designed for a significantly lighter weight. While I am sure it could technically be done, it would not be balanced and not a simple thing for the average person to do. You may recall the previous HE designs were difficult to service in removing the headband from the ear cups. The new models will make it much easier.

The suspension part is probably for the lighter weight. Throw an HE500 and it probably won't play nice? Not sure if that's how those suspension deals work.

Either way, would you guys be selling them separately like the pads?

Selling the headband separately has never come up in discussion. I will run it by Fang but I suspect he will not be interested. I also don't think it would work well on previous HE models.

Fair enough. As long as pads are interchangeable I think it's all good.

Thank you! Please do, the He4 are lighter than even the he400i so if it's weight that's the issue then no problem. As for mounting, if its different sized screws or even different screw points there are a few w ork-arounds for DIY-ers.
