We are temporarily out of stock on HE-400s in the U.S. Some of our dealers may still have some however.

HiFiMAN plans to do one more production run of HE-400 and HE-500 that should arrive later in February. At the promo prices, they certainly are good values.

Peter

Those are definitely bargain prices!

I am set for either of the new ones though, nothing swaying me now :veryevil:

@hifiman-us/Peter.. can you tell us a little more about the driver design/construction/housing differences between the 400i & 560?

What about the 3-yr warranties for HE400/500? Will they still be made on-demand for warranty replacements?

Since this thread is so OT in general I would like to post about my experiences with the Hifiman customer service.. Some time ago I had an accident with an amp (emotiva upa-2) and my HE-500 - meaning a melted diaphragm, neither of the sides working at all. I was also terrified that my pre-amp might have been destroyed as well, which it luckily wasn't. That was a very sad day of my life, I guess you can relate to that.

So, I contacted the one and only hifiman seller in my country, from whom I bought my HE-500. He contacted his distributor (Sieveking in Germany), to whom I sent my HE-500. I was told they were broken beyond repair, and I was afraid I'd have to pay a lot of money for a new one.. But apparently they decided I didn't destroy them on purpose and it probably was the amp that had failed.. So they'd sent me a NIB HE-500!!

All in all I ended up paying shipping to germany, no more. Very good service, though the wait was rather long but that was no ones fault.

HiFiMAN customer service [and subsequently their dealers'] is exemplar IMO.

I wish other brands did as well as HiFiMAN/Audez'e do!

Indeed. Of course it depends on the local distributor, at least for us europeans. But so far I have no complaints ;)

Bought myself an HE-5le while waiting for the HE-500. Not bad at all :L3000:

I myself was stuck between the 500 and 5LE.

Got the HE-6 in the end... Curse you, Darryl! [jk]

We have been working on it for quite a while already. This is going to be a great year for head-fiers especially our great Hifiman fans. ;-)

Yes, based on what we are hearing right now it will bring noticeable improvement to both the sound quality and comfortable level. The best part is that you don't need to break a leg to get them. will be priced very reasonable.

Seeing as I am an moron, can we hope that the little Plastic Rings are already installed on these new Velours :D

I love my HE 4 but I miss my dt 880 Velours ^^, looking forward to the new pads from Hifiman

I'm stil hoping the HE-560's are better than the HE-6's. I also hope the HE-400i's are better than the HE-500's. I might have to save up more if my hopes are correct. The design is nice ,but I love/hate it at the same time. Good thing these would never see the sunlight ,because these would be strictly home use.

It would be absolutely shocking to hear something CHEAPER than the he-500 to be better than one of the best price/performance headphones today...

As much as it would make people happy, I highly doubt it. The he-560 however, I could see being a decent step up

It has normal bias, yes. But it's not that powerful...
