it seemed like it was in all batches; one guy had a bad january batch iirc. how bad is the failure rate on roxannes? I definitely do not want to ship stuff and wait. I hate doing that. how is JH audio's service/turnaround time?

Check out the Roxanne thread. It is an unmitigated disaster. My favorite is either Alrainbow receiving someone else's custom Roxannes or Muppetface buying the universal Roxanne's and opening the factory seal box and low and behold no IEMs at all.

wow that's messed up, especially the latter b/c they'll probably accuse you of lying to get a free set.

I will say as an owner of the Shure SE535-J and the SE846 and former owner of the Westone 4r I am very excited to hear reviews of the W60. It may force me to buy and own both the W60 and SE846. I have nothing but respect for Westone.

Yawn..thought they were supposed to be released already. While the IEM's may be awesome, this is a marketing tragedy. I did email Westone to find out what the eta is. I expect to get told to wait in suspense though.

Listening to my LCD 2.2s tonight though through my Woo Audio WA-6SE with USAF 596 tube so all is good :P

Cheers.

I actually don't know of any place other than amazon that takes back IEMs. Even Guitar Center refuses returns on those, according to their sales person.

Amazon, BHPHOTO, Headroom and Westone as far as I know.

As long as return them as IN NEW condition with no missing accessories.

Yes amazon doesn't even charge a restocking fee.

But lots of retailers say there is some "sanitary" issue with taking back IEMs, even though they can easily replace the tips for a small fee.

Update- called Westone and learned the folllowing:
1. The W50 on their website is an error and won't be available for sale until next week or so
2. The W60 won't be available until "the first part of May."

Since they are not communicating I thought I would share what I learned a few minutes ago.

Cheers.

I found this out when my overnight delivery of a supposedly in-stock item didn't show up. April Fools!

Well,  the W60 might be the last IEM I try......

I have been extremely happy with the TF10s directly from an Ipod Touch 5, no eq.

However, after al these years I wondered if any of these new earphones from Shure, Westone, JH etc...   would  provide me the WOW factor from the first time I tried the TF10s......

It has been a long and winding road.... I tried the UE900 and I could not believe my ears, better yet, I could not believe all the UE fans , putting the TF10s down....

Then I tried the 4 driver Sony earphones..... and these ones were not even in the same league.....

And finally, I have been with the SE846 for over a week trying to find a reason to find them better sounding than my TF10s with my current setup..... a I have miserably FAILED.....

1 out 10 good sounding rock songs sound like crap......with the clinic mids all the way up, no mid bass..... and rolled off treble....

The only music  that I find interesting with these earphones is jazz, however, if the vocals are up front in the original recording, they just get even closer and not natural.

And the subwoofer?  Yes, it works, but ONLY in the sub bass dept..... and I do not listen to electronic music.... so the rumbling effect is scarce to say the least.

It is a blessing that Headroom has a solid return policy :)

Seems easy. Stick with the TF10. They would only cost 300 to replace and you love them. Cheers! I have friends that love their Beats by Dre and they are right too. We all have ears and preference. Stick with what you love.

Now, related to the delay. I am willing to bet it has to do with US customs vs. design. Let's speculate while we wait.

The price is 4 times of W4r, could the voice be 4 times of w4r? I'm really doubt it

That's pretty normal though. I went through that when I upgraded from Westone 3's to jh16. I still don't feel that the jh16 are 4 times better than the Westone 3's.
