Replacement for my AKG k518 DJ. up to 200$

Hello everyone!

I'm thinking about replacing my k518 (no foam pads, blueteck-mod, shortened cable)

I'm looking for about the same but better if possible up to 200$: Closed back, balanced- warm sound, medium- wide stage, low&kicking bass :D - more comfortable and detailed sound

I listen mainly to blues (soul, R&B... everything), Rock and heavy metal  \oo/ (00) \oo/

My source is a Cowon C2 player, no amp. (and I don't want one).

I.G.

They should all be a step up from your akgs, and under 200,- I ended up with AIAIAIs cheapest DJ model.. :)

Thanks for the reply!

I'm not looking particularly for a DJ headphones.

Which one supposed to have the "best" sound (wide stage, warm and wide frequency range) and the better built quality?

Whats the "best", has alot to do with personal taste. Best sound for me is probably not best sound for you.. All 3 is really though built, with spareparts and changeble parts.

My best advice to you is to listen before you buy. Preferably with your own music and gear in the shop..

Here is a thread that discuss the mentioned phones and others very thorogh:

Unfortunately I live in a hole, and not a Hobbit hole... I'll be lucky to find any of this headphones in a store anywhere near me (I'll order the chosen ones online)

About the "best" - as I wrote, the most important parameters for me are wide stage, warm sound, wide frequency range and built quality.

for now I will keep reading about your recommendations :)

My AIAIAIs has a wider soundstage than my AKGs with Sennheiser hd 25 earpads. I think my AIAIAIs is better all around than my AKGs. But the Akgs is known for small sound stage, so that probably isnt saying much.. :)

OK, and how about the comfort? after the K518 everything will be comfortable, but the flat-top bow looks weird
