Well, you gonna bypass the dac and amp of AK120, so it will sound like Hugo, not AK120 or something.

A little comparison for you, Jude stated Hugo even sounds better than AK240. Make your own conclusion.

Do we have a winner here or what? It just keeps getting better than better.

I must say that this makes me a bit warm inside.. biggrin.gif
Hugo is a winner. No doubt! And one of them is coming my way.. biggrin.gif

Strategies:
1.)
Audiophiles in prison are quite "popular" I've heard in this thread.. so use your last money renting heists / robbery movies as you have to succeed on your first attempt or.. yeah.. you don't wanna think about it.. wink.gif

2.)
You could also try the giggalo way? One night for £1200 maybe? wink.gif

I'm pretty careful with purchases and experience tells me (for what its worth), that upgrading should only be done when there is a significant gain to be had... most realise the Hugo is a game changer in the portable/desktop market, true hi-end for the masses.

Amber... you appreciate you gear more when you save for it, this is definitely a piece of kit you won't be upgrading anytime soon.

I am all aware of those things mate. I also experienced it, I saved so long for my first customs and the time they were in my ears and I was basically living an another era in my love of music, I understood, all the painful saving period was worth it.

Normally, I would go for 1 dap + 1 ciem. Then the Hugo is such a product that even convinced me to carry a transportable rig with me. It is an all in one solution, it is a device you gotta get it once and leave checking the news for a long while.

Everything, more or less, is fine. Except, I am still a poor master student who eats minute soups and noodles to save money for audio gear. So I gotta wait, a long wait for Hugo.

Hugo should arrive in the first week of Feb. I'll let you know how it sounds with AK120 (via optical), UM Miracles and TH900s. I'm hoping it will sound even better than those do with the very good-sounding Meier Quickstep. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't!
